NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH DELIVERS
STUDENTS
A TASTE OF JAZZ MARCH,
2008 – In support of National Nutrition Month, The Oppenheimer
Group supplied donations of refreshingly crisp ENZA Jazz™
apples to three elementary schools in local communities. Young
students attending Collins Elementary School in Livingston,
New Jersey, and at David Oppenheimer and Florence Nightingale
Elementary schools in Vancouver, British Columbia, celebrated
“Fruit and Veggie Friday” with some tasty Jazz,
while learning about the importance of fresh fruits and vegetables
as part of a healthy diet. The kids LOVED the fruit and had
a lot of fun in the process. Who says you shouldn’t
play with your food? |

TIM PEPPER WINS iPod NANO
ENZA
Jazz™ apples had a strong presence at the world's largest
produce industry conference, the Produce Marketing Association
convention, in sunny San Diego, California, Oct. 20-24,
2006. Setting a new attendance record with more than 18,670
attendees, the trade show attracted industry professionals,
including grower-shippers, retailers, processors, foodservice
professionals, suppliers, and more.
Fresh
samples of ENZA Jazz™ and Pacific Rose™ apples were handed
out at The
Oppenheimer Group's main booth, #4631 on the tradeshow
floor. And 95 visitors entered a drawing to win a limited
edition Apple iPod Nano™. Tim Pepper, a produce manager
for Dahl's Foods in Des Moines, Iowa was the lucky winner.

| MEET
THE GROWERS
What's that funny accent coming from the produce department?
It just might be a Jazz apple grower, offering a taste
of his profession along with the fruit of his labors.
As members of an elite club, Jazz
growers are intimate with
every step of production. And when the fruit is in season,
several of them from New Zealand and Washington state tour
to select grocery stores to introduce the new variety to
shoppers in North America.
So, take a few moments to chat for a
bit, and try a bite of unforgettable Jazz. |

FOLLOW
THE BAND
Music provides the most natural accompaniment
to ENZA Jazz apples. And several niche grocery stores have
organized cross-promotions with area jazz festivals. Some even
have invited bands and quartets into their stores.
Shoppers should look to your local grocer
for announcements of these and other activities this summer and
fall.
