INAUGURAL INTERNATIONAL JAZZ™ DAY CELEBRATES THE SUCCESS OF JAZZ™ — NEW ZEALAND’S RISING STAR OF THE APPLE WORLD

Researchers, growers and marketers of the exceptional JAZZ™ apple will gather from around the world Tuesday, February 3 in Berlin, Germany.
Timed to coincide with Fruit Logistica, the world’s leading produce trade show, the day will be dedicated to celebrating the variety’s success, sharing production and marketing developments as well as plans for the future of the JAZZ™ apple, which was developed in New Zealand by ENZA International and Plant and Food Research.
Participants will be updated on the latest growing and post-harvest techniques and current and future market prospects. They will also receive a first-hand look at the global brand strategy and meet the people behind the development of JAZZ™.
“With several years of growing and marketing JAZZ™ apples under our belt, it is a great time to gather the JAZZ™ community and exchange the deep collective pool of knowledge we have developed for this fantastic apple,” said Snow Hardy, general manager of ENZA International.
JAZZ™ has rapidly expanded internationally to become one of the world’s apples of choice. Over 36 million kilograms of JAZZ™ will be harvested in 2009 from nine countries throughout the Northern and Southern Hemisphere.
The JAZZ™ apple has invigorated returns for growers worldwide. It is a high grade apple that consumers have quickly come to love and trust, and it delivers a premium to growers’ returns over commodity type apples.
